How we make money

cdpap.nyc is free for families. This page explains exactly how the site pays for itself, and the rules that protect your choice.

What we never do

  • Charge any company per referral, lead, call or new client.
  • Sell your information, or share it with a company you did not choose.
  • Let payment change the order of a list or who appears on it.
  • Recommend one company over another.
  • Accept payment to change what our guides say.

How we earn money

  • Paid listings. A listed company can pay a flat monthly fee, the same for every company in its category, to add photos and a longer description. Paid listings are marked “Paid listing” and stay in the same random order as free listings.
  • Sponsored boxes. A company can pay a flat monthly fee for a box marked “Sponsored”, shown apart from any list.
  • Advertising. Ads are marked “Advertisement” and are never targeted using your health or Medicaid information.
  • Guide sponsorships. A sponsor may be thanked at the end of a guide. Sponsors never write, review or change our guides.

Every company we list can be contacted through cdpap.nyc for free. Paying does not give a company faster or special access to families.

Who can advertise

  • Companies that are licensed or contracted for the services they offer, and in good standing.
  • Companies that are not excluded from Medicaid or Medicare.
  • Companies that agree not to offer gifts, cash or bonuses to families or caregivers for choosing them.
